অন্যের সাহায্যের উপর নয়, নিজেরাই ক্ষুদ্র ব্যবসা বা উদ্যোক্তা সৃষ্টির মাধ্যমে নিজেদের অর্থনৈতিক মুক্তির পথ বাহির করতে হবে বলেন ‘এসো সচেতন হই সোসাইটি-এসই’ এর সভাপতি জনস্বাস্থ্যবিদ ও সমাজকর্মী মোঃ মাজহারুল ইসলাম।
উক্ত সভায় স্বাস্থ্যসেবার প্রতি গুরুত্ব আরোপ করতে গিয়ে তিনি বলেন বর্তমানে জীবন নির্বাহের স্বাভাবিক খরচ চালাতেই হিমশিম খেতে হচ্ছে, সেখানে শারিরীকভাবে বড় কোন অসুস্থতায় আক্রান্ত হলে চিকিৎসা করা অসম্ভব হয়ে পড়বে। তাই আমাদের নিজেদেরকেই স্বাস্থ্য সম্পর্কে সচেতন হতে হবে। যে কোন রোগের প্রথম অবস্থায় চিকিৎসার করার প্রতি গুরুত্বের কথা তুলে ধরেন।
তিনি ডায়াবেটিস রোগের ভয়াবহতার কথা উল্লেখ করতে গিয়ে বলেন, ডায়াবেটিক একটি নীরব ঘাতক। ঘুন পোকার মত শরীরে বাসা বাঁধে। এই ডায়াবেটিক থেকে বাঁচতে সুস্থ থাকা অবস্থায় বছরে দুইবার সুগার টেস্ট করার কথা বলেন। ঠিক সেভাবে ৭৫% কিডনী ডেমেইজ হওয়ার পর রোগের কথা জানা যায় তাই কিডনি সুস্থ রাখতে প্রতিদিন ২-৩ লিটার পানি পান করার বিকল্প নেই। পর্যাপ্ত পরিমাণে পানি পান করলে কিডনিতে পাথর হওয়ার ঝুঁকি কমে যায় এবং এর স্বাভাবিক কার্যক্রম ঠিক থাকে।
‘এসো সচেতন হই সোসাইটি-এসই’ সাহায্য নয়, অসহায় মানুষকে স্বাবলম্বী করার প্রতি গুরুত্ব দিয়ে থাকে। আজকের সভায় এসই এর সভাপতি উপস্থিত তৃতীয় লিঙ্গের জনগোষ্ঠীদের লিডার এবং অবহেলিত নারীদেরকে নিয়ে কাজ করছে এমন লিডারদেরকে জানান আপনারা যাদেরকে নিয়ে কাজ করছেন, তাদের ভিতর কোন না কোন কাজ করার দক্ষতা রয়েছে। এসই তার সামর্থ্য অনুযায়ী নিজস্ব অর্থ ব্যয়ে ঐ দক্ষতা কাজে লাগিয়ে তাদেরকে স্বাবলম্বী হিসেবে গড়ে তুলবে।
সবশেষে উপস্থিত সবাইকে আশ্বস্ত করা হয় তারা যাদেরকে নিয়ে কাজ করছে সবার জীবন মান উন্নয়ন এবং স্বাস্থ্যসেবা প্রদানের চেষ্টা অব্যাহত রাখবে ‘এসো সচেতন হই সোসাইটি-এসই’ |

Divert Children away from arrest, detention and imprisonment, where it is in the best interests of the child and promote rehabilitation by promoting community mediation through Child Welfare Committees and establishing a bail supervision and support scheme and rehabilitation and reunification programme .

Result of intervention |
Result 1: 4575Children picked up by the police for petty and status offences will have been released without charge and referred to Aparajeyo to access rehabilitative services, leading to a reduction in their risk of coming into contact with the law again and experiencing abuse within the juvenile justice system. By diverting these 4575 children the project will reduce the likelihood of them becoming stigmatized, re-offending, and being exposed to criminalization, neglect, abuse and exploitation whilst in detention
Result 2: 125 children charged will have received a fair trial leading to a reduction in unsafe convictions, disproportionate and custodial sentences and exposure to abusive situations
Result 3: 1,450 children at risk of coming into contact with the law and who are in contact with Community Welfare Committees (CWCs) will access community rehabilitative services. |
